Creating a global community dedicated to maintaining the art of reading through temporary guardianship of transient books
About Me
I was born Alan Montgomery on a cold February morning in the early fifties. My early childhood was spent moving about as an Air force brat. Finally, ending up in Calgary, Alberta, Canada where I continue to reside. I hold a Master of Arts degree, a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Certificate in Personnel Administration. I was fortunate to have a work life that covered many areas. Driving trucks for the City of Calgary, running a half-way house for people in conflict with the law, instructor at Mount Royal College now Mount Royal University and finally managing a Human Resources department for an oil and gas company. All great experiences. Now enjoying to the fullest a life of self imposed unpaid activities I have the time to explore ideas and projects that I never had time for in the past. I've always loved to read, particularly non-fiction works dealing with various social phenomena and there impact on our social world, so I created this project in order to initiate some dialogue around the art of reading. My intent is not only to encourage people to read but to motivate you to engage in meaningful discussions with others about our social world. It is through reading that we most find out about the world around us so that we can interact with that world.
